Emily looked at her dog with an expression of disbelief.
"You can talk?"
Fido just looked at her straight-faced. "Of course I can talk. What self-respecting familiar can't talk?"
He walked over to her and lifted his paws onto her lap.
"Which reminds me...about that god-awful kibble you keep buying..."
